The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (LAMATA) through its Managing Director, Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo emphasized the importance of developing parking infrastructure alongside public transportation projects at a key stakeholder event in Lagos.
LAMATA’s Managing Director stressed the synergy between parking and public transit, suggesting park-and-ride facilities near bus and train stations for a more comprehensive transportation system.
The event themed “Parking in Lagos, the journey so far, assessing the social and economic impact of the sector” was attended by high-level officials including the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Seun Osiyemi, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Chairman House Committee on Transportation, Hon. Temitope Adedeji Adewale and former Commissioner for Transportation Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, all involved in intellectual discourse to transform the landscape of Lagos and indeed the future.
This integrated approach aims to shape the city by offering convenient and efficient travel options for residents.
