XEJet to Launch Abuja’s Largest Aircraft Service Hub, to Cut Soaring Airfares with Local Maintenance Facility

XEJet, a Nigerian charter airline, has announced plans to build a Fixed Base Operation (FBO) and maintenance facility on a 40,000-square-meter site in Abuja to support aviation infrastructure in Nigeria.

FBOs provide crucial services like fueling, hangaring, and maintenance for general aviation aircraft.

XEJet’s CEO, Emmanuel Iza, noted that the facility will address Nigeria’s high airfares by offering local maintenance solutions.

He explained that the current maintenance approval limitation permitted only basic line maintenance.

However, he assured stakeholders that XEJet was actively working toward expanding its capabilities.

“But we are working towards expanding that capability to do that because the fleets are increasing and other people are approaching us.

“We are looking forward to, as you can see, being our customer already, with about 11 airplanes. I said it is enough to maintain and sustain an MRO. So, we are building the capacity to be able to do that,” he stated.

XEJet, which recently gained approval for commercial flights, is set for its inaugural flight on November 2.

The airline also plans to expand its maintenance capabilities to accommodate growing demand.

In a related development, FAI Technik has secured approval from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul services on Nigerian-registered business aviation aircraft worldwide.

The initiative allows the company to expand its operations and enhance support for aircraft owners and operators in Nigeria.

The recent approval covers a wide range of aircraft models supported by FAI Technik which includes Bombardier Aircraft, Hawker Aircraft, Beechcraft Aircraft and Gulfstream Aircraft.
