Turkish Airlines is increasing its flight frequencies on the Lagos–Istanbul route from seven to 10 weekly services from December 11, 2026, as the airline seeks to meet growing demand for travel between Nigeria, Türkiye and destinations across its global network.
The airline disclosed this in a statement, stating that the additional flights would provide passengers with greater flexibility and more convenient connections through Istanbul.
The expansion will increase the number of weekly flights serving Lagos by three, strengthening the airline’s Nigerian operations and providing travellers with more options for business and leisure trips.
According to the airline, passengers connecting through Istanbul will have access to its network of more than 350 destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, supported by a fleet of more than 560 aircraft.
The development follows the increase in Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul–Abuja services to seven weekly flights in June 2026, further strengthening air connectivity between Nigeria and Türkiye.
The additional Lagos services are expected to cater to passengers travelling directly between Nigeria and Türkiye, as well as those connecting to other international destinations through Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines said the expansion would support both business and leisure travel, offering passengers greater access to its international network.
Business Class passengers connecting through Istanbul will also have access to the airline’s Business Lounge at Istanbul Airport.
Under the revised schedule, the existing Lagos–Istanbul service, flight TK 625, will continue operating daily, departing at 3:20 p.m. and arriving at 8:25 p.m. The return service, flight TK 626, will also operate daily, departing Istanbul at 10:10 p.m. and arriving in Lagos at 6:35 a.m.
The three additional weekly services will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, beginning December 11, 2026.
The additional Istanbul–Lagos service, flight TK 615, is scheduled to depart Istanbul at 1:30 a.m. and arrive in Lagos at 6:35 a.m. The corresponding Lagos–Istanbul flight, TK 616, will depart Lagos at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in Istanbul at 4:45 p.m.
The increased frequency, the airline stated, is part of its broader effort to expand its network and improve connectivity for passengers travelling from Nigeria to international destinations.
