The Minister of Transportation, Sen. Said Ahmed Alkali, is seeking the reconstruction of some Federal roads in northeastern Nigeria.
Speaking while on a visit to the Federal Ministry of Works, Alkali appealed to the Minister for the total reconstruction of the Gombe- Dukku- Darazo and Gombe – Bajoga – Nafada- Potiskum roads, noting that the roads are currently in deplorable condition.
He solicited the project’s inclusion into the 2025 appropriation, stating that it will help in no small measure towards boosting the economic well-being of the populace.
According to a statement by Umar, Alkali Jibril, the Minister maintained that, the dilapidated roads connects Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, Kano and other States in the North West.
He stated that these roads links places where the country has major human activities like farming, animal husbandry and trading amongst other economic activities.
Alkali added that the proposed infrastructure, when provided would improve the socio-economic status of the affected communities, thereby discouraging rural urban drift.
While welcoming the Minister for Transportation, the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi assured that no stone would be left unturned by his Ministry towards redeeming the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He noted that such infrastructure will bring succour to Nigerians.
