This clearance allows Messrs MPH Rail Development (UK) Limited to commence the production of the necessary documents for Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval, which would allow the project to proceed. According to the statement, the project aims to connect Port Harcourt, Enugu, Calabar, and Abuja via a standard gauge rail line, which will be implemented through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, with no loans or debts incurred by the Nigerian government.
