FRSC probes marshal’s knockdown on Kaduna highway

The Corps Marshal Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has ordered a “holistic investigation” and immediate prosecution of the truck driver that knocked down an operative along Kaduna-Doka road.

He said the corps would not tolerate assaults and attacks on any of its personnel on lawful duty.

A statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, stated the Corps Marshal ordered the probe due to a rising spate of knockdown, assaults, and attacks on personnel on lawful duties, in recent times.

The Nation reports that a Dangote Truck with registration number TAK 818 SB, on May 29, knocked down an FRSC operative along Kaduna-Doka road.

The driver of the vehicle absconded but was later apprehended by a combined team of military, Police, and FRSC personnel.

“In view of the devastating impact of these knockdowns, the Corps Marshal has reiterated the resolve of the Corps to deepen existing collaborations between the Corps and the Judiciary speedy prosecution of erring drivers,” the statement said.
