Passenger traffic and revenue has witnessed significant growth in this year generating N831 million between January and June 2024. The airport, located in Warri, processed 124,000 passengers and recorded 2,051 aircraft movements during this period.

Osubi Airport Manager, Mr. Winston Egwuatu, announced these figures at the 2024 Aviation Business Summit and Expo in Lagos. He stated that Osubi Airport has become a model Public-Private Partnership venture, despite originally not being built for commercial purposes.

Egwuatu emphasized the need for further infrastructural development, assuring that the airport management is committed to facilitating a strong business environment.

He also revealed plans for a terminal extension, which will include a VIP lounge, retail shop, and restaurant—Osubi Airport’s passenger traffic.

For instance, the management provided a 250kva static UPS inverter to maintain the power supply when primary and secondary sources fail.

Additionally, the airport installed a fuel dump for emergencies and solar-powered street lights for night business operations.

Moreover, a police station was built to boost investor confidence, while perimeter fencing ensures a secure business environment.

Regarding investments, Egwuatu revealed that 10,764,900 square meters of land is available for business development and airline operations.

The airport continues to attract more airlines, with daily flights operated by Air Peace and Arik Air.

Other airlines, including Green Africa, Overland, and United Nigeria, plan to resume operations soon.

The airport is undergoing several upgrades, including runway extension and apron expansion.
